Haley at 20 Months

Haley turned 20 months last week. 20 MONTHS!! So, to try and document some of what she likes & who she is right now, in this moment, I decided to write this before she changes & I forget.

ESCAPIST
Take her to a store or in this case a nursery & her favorite thing to do is find a place to hide. If you get close to her, she takes off running to a new hiding place. If you grab her & try to carry her through the store or strap her in a cart, she will scream & flail as if you're abducting her. NOT COOL!

OUTDOOR ADVENTURER
Bugs, dirt, unripened strawberries to pick, water, swings & of course, more room to run.

BUSYBODY
If there is a shut door, cabinet, or drawer, she's into it. If she can reach it, it's hers. And if you tell her it's not hers, she will grab it from you & yell "MINE!!" & if you still won't give it to her, she will yell "SHARING!!" & throw herself down on her booty.

COPYCAT
She wants to do whatever you are doing & will also mimic what you say. She's a big helper & it's really very cute.

LOVER
Hugs, kisses & cuddles. She will tell you when she wants a hug or kiss & she will also tell you when she wants you to hug or kiss someone else. Last night she spent several minutes pushing Mommy & Daddy's faces together so we would kiss & then she would throw open her arms & giggle while saying "HUG!" for a group hug.

SPIRITED
When Daddy comes home from work each day, she yells "SET. GO! RUNNING!" & then starts running laps. Not just a few, A TON! She even wears Toby out! She also loves dancing, especially to The Imagination Movers.

CHATTERBOX!
Words, words everywhere! And now she's starting to use several two & three word sentences. For instance, before nap today she was wrapping Mama Bear in a blanket & saying "Mama nap. Mama seepling(sleeping)". I love her language & the expressions she makes while speaking to you. You should see her waving her finger at you while she tells you "No, no, no".

SONGBIRD
"Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star", "Head, Shoulders, Knees & Toes", "Old McDonald", "The Wheels on The Bus" & "This Little Light of Mine"

CARTOON CONNOISSEUR
Cailou, Harold and the Purple Crayon, The Berenstain Bears, Ice Age: Dawn of the Dinosaurs & several different Scholastic Storybook Videos.

SPEED READER
The Wheels on the Bus by Paul O. Zelinsky, The "How Do Dinosaurs..." series by Jane Yolen, the Little Critter series by Mercer Mayer & of course the Berenstain Bears.

FOODIE
Apples, pretzels, yogurt, peas, mac'n'cheese, Doritos with Daddy & her favorite "I cream" with Mommy. When she asks Daddy for ice cream, she smiles & says "I cream, prey, prey please". How can he refuse?

to sum her up: EXASPERATING, YET UNBELIEVABLY MARVELOUS
