Jon & Haley's First Piano Duet

Jon & Haley have been taking piano lessons for about a month now.  It's really a class for kids, but it's very parent involved, so Jon is learning right along with her (he already did pretty good on his own, considering he's never had lessons).  Anyways, Jon decided to teach Haley how to play part of the song "Falling Slowly" with him and even though she only had one note, she did great & kept good timing.  I can't wait for future duets :)

Pool Shark

Haley has always wanted to play pool with Papa & finally about a week ago Papa decided he would try teaching her how to play.  She loves it!  She sits patiently listening to his critiques on how to hold the cue correctly & tries over & over to hit the ball just right.  She's so proud of herself.

Finally Papa has someone to play pool with.

Haley's 1st Jiu Jitsu Tournament

Yesterday Haley went to her first Kids Jiu Jitsu Tournament.  Mommy had to miss it, but Daddy, Nana & Aunt Sunny were all there to cheer her on and from what I hear, she did great.  The kids that she went up against had way more experience than her, but she hung in there & had a great time.

Haley spent most of her time on the bottom.  She's not use to the big crowd, so she was very distracted & wasn't really putting all her effort into getiing the kid off.  She was also pretty tired, so she was being lazy. Oh well ;)

Yep, still being sat on.

Not worried at all about losing, she had fun!

Cheering other kids on.
Ready for match #2.
Several different matches going on.
Haley proudly receiving her medal.

She won second place in her bracket (there were only the 3 kids in her bracket :)

Haley made friends with an older girl, Summer.  They both proved to be good friends to each other.  Here they were waiting for Summer to get her medal.  For some reason they had skipped over Summer's medal & she was very concerned about it, so Haley actually went up to a judge for her & told them Summer needed her medal.  At a different point during the tournament a young boy was picking on Haley & Summer told the kid to back off & then took Haley over to a coach & told him what happened.  Very proud of both those girls!
A great time was had by all.
EXHAUSTED!
It was a super experience, Haley had fun & she now knows what to expect for future tournaments.  We can't wait for next time!

Soccer

Haley started her first soccer practice today.

She was really into right away.

The class is pretty basic & Haley is one of the older kids, so she spent a lot of time playing with Daddy.

Tap/Ballet Class

I wasn't sure if Haley really liked or would stay in her other The Little Gym dance class, so I signed her up for a class through park & rec also. The first half of the class is spent holding onto a dance bar while practicing a ton of different ballet & tap moves. This proved to be a little much for Haley. She's never done dance before & 25 minutes of holding onto a bar trying to focus on all these different steps she's never done before, it lost her attention. So we kept hearing "Haley, watch my feet", "Haley, don't look at your mom, watch me", "Haley, don't hang on the bar". Well, you get the point.

Finally at the end of class they get to jump around & dance across the floor to their parents.

Finally, something more Haley's speed :)

Basketball

Haley had her first itty bitty basketball practice today.

She had to wear her basketball jersey, just like Daddy does :)

All ready to go!

Haley is the only girl in the class.

But she doesn't mind:)

Trying to dribble.

Her favorite part of class was chasing Coach David.

And of course making baskets.

This is definately one of her favorite sports classes.

The Little Gym

Haley has been begging me to take a dance class ever since watching the little girls in the movie Despicable Me. So, today she had her first dance class, actually it was 15 minutes tap, 15 minutes ballet & 30 minutes gymnastics. She really enjoyed it, she twirled, giggled and made some new little friends.

We'll see how it goes, Haley had a little trouble focusing on the teacher, she was much more interested in the other little girls. There was one little girl who kept hugging Haley & of course Haley kept hugging her back, so at the end of class we were told that they needed to keep their hands to themselves & focus on dance. Uh-oh!
