Color Mixing with Shaving Cream

So our experiment started out with 3 ziplock freezer bags filled with shaving cream. We put a few drops of red & yellow food coloring in 1 bag, red & blue in the 2nd, and blue & yellow in the 3rd. Then we sealed the bags & smushed them around until the colors mixed to see what colors the shaving cream would turn. After we discussed the results, I let Haley squeeze the bags into a pan & let her make a mess!

She LOVED the feeling of the shaving cream & did a great job of keeping it in the pan.

For easy clean up I took Haley & the pan & let her play in the shower. I also wrote Haley's name in shaving cream on the shower wall before she came in. She really got a kick out of it :)

Our October sensory bin was a huge hit this month.

I'm talking, favorite toy of the month!

Who knew black beans & little trinkets could be sooo much fun.

Apple Prints

So I came across this idea on several blogs & this one in particular had a great way to cut the apples, so they had handles.

We used apple colors & Haley really liked it.

But, it was only a matter of time before she wanted to use her hands instead of the apples.

Much better!

Home Preschooling

So we've decided to do preschool at home with Mommy. We can always change our minds, but for now we feel it's the right thing for us. Haley is enrolled in several park & rec & gym classes so we aren't really worried about her not being well socialized. She loves learning at home with me, so for now that's what we're doing.

I follow several blogs which are great resources for ideas & printables. There are sooo many blogs out there, some of my favorites are:
Confessions of a Homeschooler
1+1+1=1
Homeschool Creations
2 Teaching Mommies
Mom2toposhlildivas
The Activity Mom
The Joys of Home Educating
Over The Big Moon

We started our first week with the letter A

Micah also enjoys his own little projects :)

Our counting catepillar :)

Haley loves her "school work" & often asks for more. She is so proud!

Dreaming of tomorrow's projects :)
