Color Mixing with Shaving Cream

So our experiment started out with 3 ziplock freezer bags filled with shaving cream. We put a few drops of red & yellow food coloring in 1 bag, red & blue in the 2nd, and blue & yellow in the 3rd. Then we sealed the bags & smushed them around until the colors mixed to see what colors the shaving cream would turn. After we discussed the results, I let Haley squeeze the bags into a pan & let her make a mess!

She LOVED the feeling of the shaving cream & did a great job of keeping it in the pan.

For easy clean up I took Haley & the pan & let her play in the shower. I also wrote Haley's name in shaving cream on the shower wall before she came in. She really got a kick out of it :)

Halloween Crafts

Costume Change

Haley was set on not having just one costume this Halloween. She actually went through 4 costume changes throughout the day and actually I'm surprised there weren't more.

She started dressing up as Belle for her morning music class.

Here I asked for her picture. Such attitude!

Smile, please!

Quick photo op on the front stairs before class.

Second costume of the day...Snow White.

Followed shortly by an adorable Witch.

Finally time for the official trick-or-treating costume.
Cinderella with Link aka Uncle Jerry.

Before heading out to collect candy, Haley's little buddy Josh & his dad Kevin stopped by to show off their awesome costumes!

Then off we went to go trick-or-treating with Aunt Sunny, Aunt Rose, Uncle Mike, Evey & Zoey.

Haley had a wonderful time, until one of the last houses we went to. It had a long dark walkway with a very scary guy at the end of it. Haley ran down the walkway expecting to knock on the door & get candy. Unfortunately, she got to where the door should have been, but the door was open, with no lights & there was this really creepy, completely silent guy making jerky, erratic movements & she froze, immediately bursting into tears! It was HORRIBLE!!! She was terrified! I scooped her up as fast as I could. I felt horrible, I hadn't been right with her because all the houses before had been totally little kid friendly & she had been staying close to Aunt Sunny. As she went running towards the door I heard someone saying it was really scary, so I immediately ran to follow her, but I was too late. I couldn't believe that the stupid ass didn't even bother to try & not be totally scary when he saw this extremely terrified little girl. For WEEKS after, SEVERAL times a day, Haley said she didn't want to go back down the dark tunnel where the scary guy was. Just thinking about it makes me sooo mad!

Fortunately, it didn't ruin the night.

I think all the candy helped!

Pumpkin Creations

Now that we had the perfect pumpkins, it was time to get to work.

Haley loves taking pictures of Mommy :)

And the finished product.

Jon also had a mini pumpkin decoration contest at work & this is what we came up with.

I think it turned out really cute!

Harvest Festival

In preparation for Halloween we took another trip to the farm to pick up a couple pumpkins to carve. Since it's October, the farm was celebrating it's Annual Harvest Festival, so there were several fun things to do.

We took a Horse Drawn wagon ride.

Found the perfect pumpkins.

Mommy & Haley's annual Fall photo.

Dragon face painting.

And of course, she had to have a matching balloon dragon!
