So, Haley had her first major injury yesterday and it sucked! Now that Haley is feeling more confident about walking, she's holding onto things for balance less & she's picking up speed, she leaves caution to the wind! I mean, I love that she's having fun with her new freedom, but I don't love all the spills that come with it.
Anyways, yesterday as we were getting ready to take Gavin home, I was in the bathroom & Jon was following Haley who was currently toddling around my parent's room. All of a sudden Haley picked up speed & DOVE into the dog bed that sits in front of my parent's dresser, unfortunately she is longer than the dog bed & her forehead hit the little round dresser knob. I heard her start screaming, so I came running & as Jon turned her around, there was blood STREAMING down her face! It was HORRIBLE!!!! I grabbed a wash cloth & Jon applied pressure to her head for a couple minutes to stop the bleeding. Once it had stopped, we packed Haley & Gavin in the car & drove to her Dr's office who, in 5 minutes was closing for the day. The whole way there I was panicked thinking OH MY GOD, WHAT IF MY DAUGHTER HAS A HOLE IN HER SKULL!! Thank goodness, our Dr was still there & they took us in. Good news...no hole in the skull, bad news...it took 2 nurses & Jon to hold Haley down SCREAMING while the Dr glued her cut back together. I waited in the hall with Gavin so as to not freak him out.
So, Jon & I both feel like the world's worst parents even though we know you can't protect your kid from everything. We are still shaken by the whole situation, but we know it could have been much worse & we are so thankful that it will heal with no problems. But it still sucked!

That is so scary. I am glad she is ok. I would have so freaked out too. You guys are great parents and never forget that. Now Haley and Mike have something in common... they both have had boo boo heads.
